skuinders
Because I am bored at work, here are the calculations. Volumes: [math]v_{nickel} = 1.95mm\times \pi \times 10.6mm^2 \approx 688mm^3[/math] [math]v_{dime} = 1.35mm\times \pi \times 8.96mm^2 \approx 340mm^3[/math] Value/Volume: [math]r_{nickel} = \frac{5}{v_{nickel}} \approx 0.007 cents/mm^3[/math] [math]r_{dime} = \frac{10}{v_{dime}} \approx 0.029 cents/mm^3[/math] [math]r_{dime} > 2 \times r_{nickel} [/math]

Kyrisch
This thing all things devours: Birds' date=' beasts, trees, flowers; Gnaws iron, bites steal; Grinds hard stones to meal; Slays king, ruins town, and beats high mountain down.[/quote'] Poor Bilbo sat in the dark thinking of all the horrible names of all the gaints and ogres he had ever heard told of in tales, but not one of them had done all these things. He had a feeling that the answer was quite different and that he ought to know it, but he could not think of it. He began to get frightened, and that is bad for thinking. Gollum began to get out of his boat. He flapped into the water and paddled to the bank; Bilbo could see his eyes coming toward him. His tongue seemed to stick in his mouth; he wanted to shout out: "Give me more time! Give me more time!" But all that came out with a sudden squeal was: "Time! Time!" Bilbo was saved by pure luck. For that of course was the answer. One of the finer moments in The Hobbit, in my opinion. Made me laugh out loud. Tolkein was a genius. Anyway, my riddle has yet to be answered correctly... BobbyJoeCool
[hide'] the weather [/hide] It's a good guess, as far as it goes, but Kyrisch was right when he said "Time" It's the the chapter in the book The Hobbit Riddles in the Dark. My favorite "riddle" in that chaper is "What have I got in my pocket?"

Kyrisch
Well since I did answer a riddle, I guess I'll post another along with my first one that no one has figured out yet (I'm guessing this is because I wrote it myself and you can't look up the answer on the internet lol). A thousand legs but naught can stand A thin long neck of colour sand I work only by human hand --------------------------------- A curved snake balancing Atop a single ball Suspended for eternity Not to sway nor to fall It always strikes An inquisitive tone Always preceded, Sometimes followed, But never found alone.
