Kyrisch Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 I've heard lots of rumours about adolescent zits, and I just want to clear a few things up (no pun intended ). First of all, is it all just hormones, or do the things that one eats affect it as well? And I'm almost positive that stress has something to do with it. (I got the biggest zit of my life the day after my first kiss ) Your thoughts?
Kermit Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 From what i've read, certain foods can trigger acne. Greasy foods, mainly. Sometimes chocolate. Or you could just rub grease all over your face and not wash it off.
Kyrisch Posted August 13, 2005 Author Posted August 13, 2005 I was reading in some Discovery magazine that the foods one eats doesn't affect it at all and that it is purely hormonal.
Lance Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Its not the foods you eat. It has nothing to do with eating. Its getting oil in your pores which causes them to clog and infect.
NPK Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Bacteria can also play a part. ie. Propionibacterium acnes
