wotsallthis Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Hello all, I have just found Falstad and have a couple of questions to ask please. I connected an led to a 50 volt battery with a 100 ohm resistor. The led still lights. Shouldn't it burn out (diagramatically of course) or is it that the programme doesn't have this facility? Perhaps my sums are wrong, I am a beginner after all. How do I have a two way (double) switch on this programme? I would like to experiment with a capacitor and a lamp. Thanks in advance everyone.
Kartazion Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 We do not see where your resistance is. It must be in series. Here is the calculation for your request.
wotsallthis Posted February 27, 2021 Author Posted February 27, 2021 Kind of you , thank you , sorry for not replying I have not been well. Alan
studiot Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 (edited) I suspect many did not see your thread all those months ago. I confess I did not. I hope you are now ell again. Are you still interested in discussing that circuit or circuitry in general ? On 9/28/2020 at 4:44 PM, wotsallthis said: I would like to experiment with a capacitor and a lamp. Before using a circuit simulator I would recommend finding out a little about circuit elements or components. By experiment with, did you mean witha actual components or on a simulator ? wotsallthis Posted March 3, 2021 Author Posted March 3, 2021 Thank you Kartazian and Studiot. I'm very well thanks for asking. You have obviously "tumbled" me as a beginner and I will enjoy going through this. I may well come back to you. Keep well Alan As a begginner, I know the symbols for amps, voltage, resistance, power and a tiny bit more. Could I trouble you Kartazian to explain the symbols in your diagram please? Ua, Vf and 1f, Best Alan
wotsallthis Posted August 6, 2021 Author Posted August 6, 2021 Just a note, hope you are well. I'm getting into Falstad a bit, and learning, thanks to your help. Regards
