harith haikal Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Hello everyone, i am very new to these kind of stuff and i need some assistance for my last year degree project. My project is related to Aluminium oxide , but the problem is i'm not sure how to produce aluminium oxide. Can anyone explain me the steps and process on how to obtain Alumina(Aluminum Oxide) from aluminium nitrate? I've heard something about burning these aluminium nitrate but i cant find it anywhere on google.
chenbeier Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 If you have Aluminiumnitrate, then you can bake it to 300- 400°C. It will decompose and release NOx and form the aluminium oxide.

How much can i bake at once? are there any specific equipments that i have to bring along with me? Thank you for replying 😍
chenbeier Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 (edited) You have to bake it 2-3 h. I told NOx will be developed, so need good exhaust hood. Then amount depend of the size of the oven . As container a iron vessel would be ok. Edited October 27, 2020 by chenbeier
