Sayonara Posted August 26, 2005 Share Posted August 26, 2005 Edit: after doing a bit of research I'm not so sure about the above comment.It seems I was thinking of the CIA's jurisdiction which does NOT include US citizens; if the CIA finds that a US citizen is suspect the report must either be thrown out or sent to the FBI. I'm not sure if it works the other way around. The FBI has no specific remit outside USA borders, and certainly no jurisdiction, so they can't (for instance) arrest a UK citizen who's just stolen a bunch of CDs from the Luton branch of HMV. What they can do however is share investigative resources and information with other law enforcement agencies, which is why they are always getting their hands on 13-year-old Swedish hackers, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
