Photon Guy Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 If the Earth was the size of a tennis ball, this video explains the size and scale of the universe. This video will make you feel very small. 3
SpaceJac111 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 You'll feel how small and insignificant you're in 3,2,1.... But seriously, this approach is the best to understand the actual size of the Universe. I've read the scientific data and watched lots of similar videos but only this one made me understand everything. Thank you for sharing this.
StringJunky Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 (edited) I visualise the observable universe size - 96BLYRS - this way: if the diameter of our galaxy is 1mm, the universe is 960m across. Edited May 21, 2021 by StringJunky 1
iNow Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Just note that UY Scuti is no longer considered the largest star. Turns out it's much closer to us than originally thought so the calculations of diameter were inaccurate... It's still ginormous, just not the most ginormous.
