Persuader
I'm trying to learn html and the tutorial said I needed a UNIX account to make a webpage. Can anyone tell me where I can get myself a UNIX account?
the tree
LOL I have no idea where you heard that. Unix is an operating system, granted it is the back end to a lot of hosts but it's by no means needed to learn HTML.
Klaynos
If you're just learning html and you don't want others to view it there is no reason why you'd need anything other than your desktop machine. If you want others to view it on the web you need to host it somewhere. There are quite a few free hosts out there that'll do it for you the OS is not really an issue if all you want to do is host a few web pages... radman
UNIX hosts are usually a host you can get a shell account on and usually web space comes with the shell account, if you're just learning HTML and don't know any unix or linux commands you should just do as Klay and the tree said, you could search google directories for free webhosts.
