Erina Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Could hand held motor be powered from the resonance of power supply cabling behind a dry-wall ? Nothing hardcore, but enough to get it going; as if connected to a 9V battery.

No you can't get something for nothing. You would need sufficient current to be flowing in the cabling for the magnetic coupling. 1
studiot Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Thank you whoever liked my comment from back last March. It should be noted that an old fashioned 'analog' meter is in fact a small motor and such meters can be used to detect current flow in buried cables.
Erina Posted August 11, 2021 Author Posted August 11, 2021 It was me. I'm surprised that the forum doesn't allow for folk to see that.

The forum software does not show names when one can plus or minus a post. If there was a like-only option, ala Facebook, then one would see the names. The mods felt showing the names of those who disapprove was not a good idea... IIRC
iNow Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 The software allows it. The configuration chosen here does not (for regular users, staff IINM can). This was based as SJ notes on problems with how the system behaved when such activity was visible (reciprocal in good and bad ways… retaliation, etc.)
