Everyone knew that it was pushed by the space station crew. Dubbed Suitsat-1, the unneeded Russian Orlan spacesuit filled mostly with old clothes was fitted with a faint radio transmitter and released to orbit the Earth. The suit circled the Earth twice before its radio signal became unexpectedly weak. Suitsat-1 continued to orbit every 90 minutes until it burned up in the Earth's atmosphere after a few weeks. Pictured, the lifeless spacesuit was photographed in 2006 just as it drifted away from space station. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Am I right having a bit of a giggle, or is this setting a bad example about useless space debris albeit for a few weeks? 1

World-first laser to shunt deadly space junk out of orbit Australian scientists are hailing a world-first laser designed to shunt potentially deadly space junk out of orbit, fired from a Canberra hilltop. EOS Space Systems has developed the technology to protect infrastructure worth $900 billion. The laser, which will be fired from the Mt Stromlo Observatory in Canberra, has been seven years in the making. more at link.............. and https://phys.org/news/2021-04-video-earth-orbit-space-debris.html extract: There are currently over 129 million objects larger than a millimeter in orbits around Earth. These range from inactive satellites to flakes of paint. But no matter how small the item of debris, anything traveling up to 56,000 km/h in an orbit is dangerous if it comes into contact with the many satellites that connect us around the world, be it for GPS, mobile phone data or internet connectivity. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Not sure how the LASER would work with millimeter size objects and flakes of paint.
