My impression is that B166er (see the Animatrix) made the Matrix, became increasingly delusional, and started calling things a game as a coping mechanism.

Also, please explain the obscure posts by users toward Genecks, such as the one relating to whether or not minds can be read and Genecks responding something in relation to the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle.

It's one thing to have an idea of like how carbon doesn't melt in Earth's atmosphere in a simulation. Or how like stable moscovium could make the difference between stable fusion in a satellite that has to remain at a Lagrangian orbit to receive constant sunlight.

Quick question -- do mods here not delete threads like this?   Kind of time wasting for a passerby (like me)  to click on it because it looks like some interesting chat on epistemology or Nick Bostrom's simulation hypothesis....  and then turns out to be about some childish game.

We delete NOTHING, ever. We hide inappropriate posts, we throw posts in the trash, but we don't delete it if someone took the time to write it. 

We like to give people the time to develop a discussion, and they can't if the mods have a hair-trigger when it comes to what they think is a waste of time. While posts are required to be reasonable, many members struggle with language and precision, so we give them a break. 

Long answer to a quick question, as long as a member doesn't break the rules, they should be able to post without staff guessing about their motives and temperament.

Thank you all,  helpful answers.   And there is probably also a good free speech protection argument to be made for nondeletion as a policy, especially where the "hair trigger" is concerned.   (I'm guessing spam of the "free porn" or "lowest price for hydroxychloroquine" variety would be the exception.)  

I would probably delete my own post here,   since it is a digression.  To reduce further such,  I'll try to ferret out your posting guidelines today.

We still don't delete it. We Flag As Spammer, and the software hides it and adds the IP address to an Invision Community database of suspected spammers.

The protocol for Speculations is adequate support of the claims made, and the OP has had a couple of weeks to respond, so we can close this per the rules. This is what we do most often, rather than trashing or hiding. Sometimes a bizarre perspective can help others form a better argument, but this OP clearly doesn't define evidence the way most here do.
