Phi for All Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 ! Moderator Note I hope I did the right thing by removing the poll you had set up. This doesn't seem like a question for a poll, but if I'm wrong I can put it back (maybe). Iirc, K1 and K2 have fundamentally different sources. If you're at the initial stages of research, perhaps that would help.
TheVat Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 I'm tagging @Doogles31731 because he wrote a book on vitamin K. My only hint: the difference between K1 and K2 is somewhat like the difference between plant based omega 3 PUFA and the DHA form of omega 3 found in fish and other animal sources. Research what happens when gut microbiota process the plant based K1.
John Cuthber Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Vitamin K was originally defined as anything that would treat vitamin K deficiency (which causes problems with blood clotting). It was later found that there are a number of chemicals that will do that so they are all referred to as "vitamin K" but given numbers to distinguish them
