CmdrShepSpectre2183 Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 It seemed like during the 2000s American society was either encouraged to be overly obsessed with exercise, muscle cars, and the NFL or owning a rich mansion and being like a Kardashian. Why can't these men be both strong and smart? Like the astronauts? What was to blame for this? Hollywood? Has there been a pushback against this? It seems like there is no more stigma against fantasy themed TV shows with the massive success of "Game of Thrones". Would society be a better place if "meatheads" aspired to be more like astronauts?

Moderator Note As opposed to other times, where nobody encouraged people to conform? You need to re-form this so that 1. it's not an exercise in begging the question (i.e. establish that you have a valid premise) and 2. It's posted in the proper area of the forums. This is not a discussion for The Lounge.
