I'm asking for a thesis, not to try or achieve it.
Is Toluene passed through nitric acid 3 times while TNT is being produced, or is it passed through acid once and nitrated 3 times at the appropriate temperature

You're writing a thesis concerning the recipe details of making TNT?

My guess is that specific procedural details on making an explosive would violate site rules.  If you had trouble locating the forum rules, you are not the first.  When I first joined, I looked in announcements but only found piecemeal posts amending said rules.

needed not a recipe but whether it was one step or 3 steps, got my answer
