J.C.MacSwell Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 this is the 8billionth time i have gotten this PM. Then you are now eligible for one "get out of jail free" card.
Bettina Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Your attitude just got you another warning Bettina
Hellbender Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 i've got plenty of those..... LOL herme3's final few responses in that thread were hilarious. I went back to it through your link and had a great laugh.
5614 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I don't get it, what was the purpose of this thread? Do you want us to tell you to be polite to people so you don't get warnings? Or to encourage you to keep saying what you think!?
Phi for All Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I think the automated system considers all flamers to be somewhat stupid and in need of several billion reminders. Perhaps if you reply back that you have a dispute it will start ignoring you.
5614 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 It's automated!??! Then how does it know what is a flamer? Like if I say keywords will it send a warning?
Phi for All Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 The warning is given by staff; the email regarding the warning is automated, as is keeping track of when the points mature and expire. We're working on a system which renders electrical shocks to those who abuse the system. There are some hardware problems involved. In the near future, make sure to check the YES box when asked if you'd like to order our new SFN headbands with USB cable attachments.
YT2095 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 what?, did you seriously think that the warning alone was the ONLY punishment? LOL )))
ydoaPs Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 it expired like a month ago....it makes me sad that i keep getting these PMs.
Phi for All Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Dave will take care of it. You should have said something earlier, we thought you liked all the attention.
ydoaPs Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 i thought they'd go away by themselves. the other one did.
Phi for All Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 i thought they'd go away by themselves. the other one did.No, you're thinking of cold sores. vBulletin automated warnings are like creationists; illogical, persistant and more prolific than you thought possible.
ydoaPs Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 now it's doing it with the other one.
Thomas Kirby Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Sometimes it's because they hand you a straight line that's just too much to resist.
ydoaPs Posted September 10, 2005 Author Posted September 10, 2005 Dear yourdadonapogos' date=' A warning you have received for violating Science Forums and Debate Rules has been removed by the Forums team. The removed warning concerned: [b'] Spamming [/b] (Warning Type = Spamming) The post for which you were warned, and whose warning has now been removed, can be seen here: Warned Post With this warning being removed, 4 point(s) have been removed from your total. Your total Warning Level at the moment is: 0 point(s). Please reply back if you have a dispute. i keep getting this one now. and it was removed before the last one. i still don't think that was spam, though. it is just as valid as Christianity. imo, if FSM gets a spam warning, so should God, but that isn't what this thread is about.
Dave Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Sorry this is taking so long, but I'm having a bit of trouble identifying why the system is doing what it's doing. I thought that by removing that particular problem, it might admit the solution. However, obviously that didn't work. I shall look into it.
-Demosthenes- Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Oh silly me, there's already a thread for it. Sorry about that. It's rather efficient actually, I'll never off topic post again
-Demosthenes- Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Last nights message got sent at 10:00 PM (instead of 9:59, the time they were being sent at previously).
Mokele Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Add me to the list for this, my old off-topic warning has been coming up every day now for weeks.
Dave Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Bah. I can see I'm going to have to sort this out.
