FrancoisBelandParayre Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 It is true ? Araneus Sorex: 1.5 years
sethoflagos Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 (edited) There are quite a few mammals that typically will not survive into a second breeding season in the wild. Many, if not all of these can live for over two years in captivity, the Common Shrew included. So 'life span' is very dependent on context. The shortest average lifespans may simply reflect the highest predation rates rather than the animal's ability to survive longer if not preyed upon. The Common Shrew is often cited because it is a familiar animal to many in an influential part of the world. More so than say Mullers Giant Sunda Rat (Sundamys muelleri) of SE Asia which may be a better contender for some particular interpretation of your question. In many cases, there simply isn't enough research data available to provide any sensible answer. Long and the short: nobody knows (whatever you've read elsewhere on the internet). FrancoisBelandParayre Posted February 13, 2023 Author Posted February 13, 2023 Increase life span experience ______________________________ Obviously, If an expérience with mammals about increasing life span, patience is requiere to get result. As I see now, There is no 2 Weeks living mammals 🤔 as worm, butterfly etc.. ❌ lol Expérience with elder mouse ? _______________________________ Otherwise, take an elder mouse , aged from 2 or 3 years old Trying to perfectly take care of .🤔 To make live longer. Even with this solution, patience is requiere 🥵 Animal life span ________________ A world Guiness according a record : mouse aged of 19 years old. 🥵 dog aged of 30 years old ( Brand new world record from today)
swansont Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Animals under human care - i.e. pets - generally get the same advantages we do: clean water, better quality and regular access to food, modern medicine, shelter from the elements, protection from predation. It shouldn’t be surprising that such animals live longer than their cousins in the wild.
