Define: Blue Shifts

I ve looked evrywere and cant find a proper defenition or explenation of what are blu shifts and i thought you people might know.

It's the Doppler shift when objects are moving toward each other. The frequency is shifted higher, or "to the blue" (i.e. higher end of the frequency spectum, as opposed to red at the lower end)
