insane_alien Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Is it worth buying a laptop for university? i'm unsure about it and have heard various views on it. i'm doing chemical engineering if it makes a difference and the university has full wifi coverage
ydoaPs Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 it depends on what you plan on using it for
ecoli Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 I bought a new laptop for uni. It's a good deal, becasue I'm a commuter in a Wifi campus. I can do hw or access the internet between classes. And there is so many studetns at my school, there are rarely computers available.
CPL.Luke Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 my personal plan is to use my main desktop for most things (the one I have now) and buy one of those tablet pc's for mobil work
5614 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 I'd say no on the basis that if you have a working desktop PC which you can keep in your house then just write notes up by hand... besides the money will become useful (unless you're damn rich!) At the same time if your computer is seriously out of date and needs updating, and you'd rather type notes then write, and you have the money, maybe you should get one!
