CZU Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Hi I want to use Chelex 100 resin to extact DNA but in catalogue i found two kinds of this reagent (with dry mesh size 100-200 and 200-400). Do you know practical differences between these reagents?
zyncod Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 The larger beads isolate smaller biomolecules and the smaller beads larger biomolecules. If you're just doing a PCR clean, I don't think it makes much difference.
CZU Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 I want to extract bacterial DNA from various food matrix which have inhibitory influence on PCR reaction. In Biorad catalogue i have read that the 200-400 is designed for DNA extraction but 100-200 is more often found in references.
