Researchers at the University of Southampton have discovered several distinct groups of spinosaurs that lived in southern England over 100 million years ago. These spinosaurs were semi-aquatic and primarily fed on fish. Advanced techniques like CT scanning and 3D reconstructions were used in the study, leading to the discovery of these previously unknown spinosaur groups.
