JGGAGE Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Could someone tell me what would be the best way to separate these 3 solids. Potassium Nitrate, Sodium Chloride (Salt), and sand, all of which are in water. Any insight would be helpful thanks.
jsatan Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Well filter the sand, lol I think about the others Id wait a day b4 getting a ful answer as it isnt that busy around here,
JGGAGE Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 Well, I have to get each of these by themselves, Pottasium Nitrate is 100% soluble in water at 60 degrees celcius, so if the sand was alone in that it would work, but salt is only 38% soluble in water so filtering wouldnt work...
budullewraagh Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 gravity filter the sand, fractionally crystallize NaCl, remove and crystallize KNO3
