Mike Kovich Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 I once discovered on the internet, a sort of scanner for experiments. It was used to monitor experiments and such. It connected to a usb port I believe and came with some sort of software. I somehow lost the website and cannot find it again. Does anyone have any idea what this device is called? Thanks, Mike Edit: Forgot to mention, it connects to a computer just incase anyone could not figure that out
mezarashi Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Now that's very vague. I wouldn't know what to think '_';;
danny8522003 Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 We used something like that in my high school - a LogIT i think it was called. Had a box connected to a computer with different probes you could attach to it, is that what you mean?
Mike Kovich Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 It might be, but the only LogIT information I found on the internet was a real-time statistics program Let me try to explain what I was talking about in the first post. Its basically a little device you hook into a computer and you open up the program and then it has some probes I guess you could say, which go to your experiment and shows the information from the probes on your computer.
YT2095 Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Ooookaaay... well, a sort of scanner for experiments. It was used to monitor experiments doesn`t really help much does it? I mean What Sort of "Experiments" are we talking about here for a start? this isn`t even in a particular Thread area where we could at least Guess at it!
Mike Kovich Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 I know haha but I remember reading it on the site and it looked really interesting but my phone rang or something and I accidently closed it, that was months ago and I just suddenly remembered it and wanted to find out what it was.
YT2095 Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 I`m sure your reason is More than valid and wasn`t in Question. what IS in question is the TYPE of experiments you`re on about, was it electronic, chemical, to do with cars or rockets or plants, perhaps it was for Biology???? can you see my point now?
ecoli Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 "probes" isn't really specific enough either. did they measure temperature, pressure...?
insane_alien Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 yeah my highschool had those things although they were called "ALBA". the probes could be for anything, temp, pH, light intensity, sound intensity etc.
Mike Kovich Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 Yes! That is it insane alien! I googled ALBA and found this site: http://www.djb.co.uk/SidePages/DataLog_Pages/datalog_sensors.html That was the site I was on before! I finally found it! Thanks a lot everyone
Pangloss Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 An interesting exercise in induction theory.
