blike Posted July 23, 2002 Posted July 23, 2002 NewScientist is reporting that "Doctors in the US have detected the first Staphyloccocus aureus bacteria that are highly resistant to vancomycin, known as the antibiotic of last resort." Won't be long until none of our drugs work
dragoon Posted July 23, 2002 Posted July 23, 2002 Weed will still cure all bad problems! Puff Puff Pass !
kenel Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 "Pass the dutchie to the left hand side".....don't even start. Blike is right, if we can become immune to antibiotics, why wouldn't the bacteria, or virus evolve with immunities to our medicine?
dragoon Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 Well why shouldn't it? We can become immune, and so can it. Why do you think new medications come out constantly? But the thing is which i believe is you can only get each type of virus once and not get the exact same kind again because your immune system should then know how to fight it off. They make the medications much stronger then the virus is so the virus is killed before it has a chance to become immune.
