Lance Cho Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 How can I get by the "ADMINISTRATIVE RIGHTS NEEDED" notice? I am currently a powered user, but the guy who programed my computer isn't alive so I have no idea how to get by it. And I don't want to re format my hard drive, or damadge the computer/network, or other things on my computer.
H2SO4 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Hes dead? Programmed your computer? Is it running windows xp?
H2SO4 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 so what, you have a computer, and you have a profile that is password protected, and this profile has administrative rights? You are on a limited account, and you need to get admin rights. You might be able to edit the registry. If you can find a way to delete his account it may make you the admin. Does your computer have a password jumper? Its a little pin on your mother board you stick in a slot or something (have never checked it out). This overrides all passwords. But it may only overide the bios password, but i think it overrides xp passwords.
Sayonara Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 This isn't the kind of thing we want to make available to any old Joe who passes by. If anyone knows a solution and wants to hand that information out, they can PM Lance directly.
