Samphire Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 We know the transformation of messages in our brain is thro' electric signals. so whether there is magnetism around our head?
insane_alien Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 yes but it is undetectable more than a few inches outside your skull. how do you think the little bits they stick on your head work? The strongest EM source in the body is the heart AFAIK
mezarashi Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 We know the transformation of messages in our brain is thro' electric signals.so whether there is magnetism around our head? Anywhere you find time-dependent electric fields, you will most definitely find magnetic fields. So if those electric signals exist, then most definitely your brain will produce magnetic signals as well.
Externet Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Very interesting, Samphire. If the tiny currents the neurons carry make equally tiny magnetic fields, varying magnetic fields should produce currents in them ! Then, the magnetic fields of soooo many electronics surrounding us should induce stray currents in our neurones, interfering with the nervous system, making us... crazy ? Miguel
