Number of base pairs of DNA in one nucleosome

If I'm asked to calculate the number of nucleosomes for an organism with a certain number of base pairs, I can easily calculate by dividing this value with the DNA base pairs per nucleosome.

However, do I need to consider the linker DNA too? If I take the base pairs in just the nucleosome, I'd have 146 bp. But if I consider the linker DNA as well, I'll have a little over 200. My textbook says to consider 200 instead of 146. Can someone explain why that is so?
