nec209 Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Well thing is that someone with major depression with psychotic feature can have all their symptoms elevated from just a SSRI. Similar can happen in bipolar with psychosis (using just a mood stabilizer) and anxiety disorders with psychosis (again just an SSRI). Although I'm not sure how common the monotherapy is here? But seems that people who have major depression or bipolar get psychosis more than the general population the same with people who have anxiety. It seems that SSRI are bad and trigger it.

Your not the only one that thinks that, this debate is well worth a listen.
nec209 Posted August 13 Author Posted August 13 (edited) I understand but why do people keep saying trauma causes psychosis? They say people who have major depression, bipolar or anxiety have higher chance of getting psychosis but they say it really trauma that causes psychosis and hearing the strange sounds or voices. They go on to say SSRI seem to cause it. So if I understand how does SSRI cause trauma or people who have major depression, bipolar or anxiety cause trauma. Why does trauma cause the brain to hear strange sounds or voices or have strange religions things going on. Edited August 13 by nec209

You need to be more specific: Quote Psychosis is a term used to describe a collection of symptoms where a person has difficulty distinguishing between what is real and what is not Trauma can cause post traumatic stress disorder, which causes people suffering, bc they know what is real...
