Cumulonimbus clouds are menacing looking multi-level clouds, extending high into the sky in towers or plumes. More commonly known as thunderclouds, cumulonimbus is the only cloud type that can produce hail, thunder and lightning.

Have a Cloud generator machine in the Air generate Cumulonimbus clouds.  Then, absorb the Lightning somehow.

It is an engine that uses liquid hydrogen and oxygen. To produce liquid hydrogen, human convert methane or use water electrolysis. To produce liquid oxygen, human cool the air to a temperature sufficient to liquefy the gases present, or use electrolysis of water and then cool it. Either way, it is a very energy-intensive process.

It's about the outcome, if more energy can be harnessed then going in, then it's worth doing.

While only lasting a millisecond, a flash of lightning is thought produce up to 10 gigawatts (GW) of electricity, which would be a sixth of the capacity of all the rooftop solar panels in the U.S. in 2021.
