I am not that au fait with the workings of these things but slowed it down and got the same image as yourself and assumed it was a worm like thing flitting about

Like dropping a small round object in front of the camera and see what the resulting video looks like? You could try different things so that air resistance affects the velocity, for instance a small metal ball, a piece of paper, a tiny feather or similar.
