Why do people say the GOP is really racist and sexist?

There has also been a lot of disparaging remarks about Harris sleeping her way to the top. I’m not aware of similar smears aimed at any GOP women by anyone in the democratic hierarchy.

The GOP changed rapidly when TFG and QAnon took the party over. Republicans that had both experience in legislation and some honor wrt PoC and women were shoved to the background. The ones that remain are the scum of the Earth, and I have no doubt they are practicing all the horrible atrocities they claim the liberals are up to. I truly hope each and every one of them are held accountable for the damage they've inflicted on humans in the US. The GOP is looking for more slaves and trad wives, and unless wiser heads can prevail, they're all traitors to the democracy the rest of us are trying to maintain.

I think it was changing over a longish period of time (certainly with the tea party), but quite a few were holding onto a veneer of respectability. After all, folks like Steve King was in congress since 2003? And he wasn't exactly shy about his white nationalism. I think it felt rapid as Trump was a bit of a "mask off" event, allowing them to remove all filters (become non-PC). It should be noted that while he was ultimately ousted, his cardinal sin was likely losing ground to Democrats.
