Hotshot33610 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 What is the proper way to find them? I believe that my physics teacher is wrong on this, and I would like to find the correct answer.
Tom Mattson Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I can only assume that you are talking about those electric circuit elements that are known as resistors. If so, then what do you mean by "accepted resistance"? Are you talking about the nominal value? If so then it's easy to determine that: You read it off the resistor (note that the rating could be reported as a color code). And as for determining the observed value, you connect a Ohmmeter to it and you measure it.
Hotshot33610 Posted October 5, 2005 Author Posted October 5, 2005 Correct. That is what I had thought also, but he said that we found the accepted resistance by meausring the resistor with a multimeter, and then found the observed resistance by finding the slope of the voltage decreasing in a capacitor through a resistor. Doesnt appear to work, as no one has yet done it succesfully.
