TheVat Posted Saturday at 03:28 PM Posted Saturday at 03:28 PM Yesterday was that day that keeps triskaidekaphobes at home, but perhaps a thirteen lurks in every Friday. How? (it also lurks in Bill Oldfield, for a bonus point)
sethoflagos Posted Monday at 08:48 PM Posted Monday at 08:48 PM I'm sure I'm missing something only a little opaque here... ...but at least I've discovered how to select 'hidden' on Android Spoiler Given Sunday is conventionally the first day of the week, the thirteenth day is a Friday? Long shot. Wtf is Bill Oldfield?
TheVat Posted Monday at 09:12 PM Author Posted Monday at 09:12 PM Spoiler I suppose one could look at the letters of the name? Once you solve Bill Oldfield (not an actual famous person AFAIK, it is just about a letter or group of letters that might convey something), you may see how the Friday part could be approached. It is not about counting days or anything like that. I can post an answer, and how it was arrived at, if anyone wants.
sethoflagos Posted Tuesday at 12:49 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:49 AM Spoiler Aha! Scrabble scores. Works for Friday and Oldfield.. ...but not Bill or William...hmm.
TheVat Posted Tuesday at 01:49 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 01:49 AM Spoiler Nell Oliver would do just as well. As for a 13 lurking in every Friday, well, it would lurk in other week days as well. Almost like someone cast a...hex on them.
zapatos Posted Tuesday at 05:05 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:05 AM So... The 13th lurks in December but not November? 1
TheVat Posted yesterday at 01:55 AM Author Posted yesterday at 01:55 AM Light seems to be dawning. Here are the answers, for anyone who is curious. Spoiler Friday. D (hexadecimal) = 13 Bill0ldfield. 1101 (binary) = 13 Hopefully everyone's base desires are satisfied. 1
