Eskimo Pie is no longer. The Cleveland Indians are no longer. The Washington Redskins are no longer. The cook on the Cream of Wheat box is no longer. Aunt Jemima is no longer. ESKIMO is a fun word. INDIAN is a fun word. The COOK made Cream of Wheat fun to eat. Ford got rid of the MERCURY trademark because it is a Roman god which might offend folks of other faiths. PONTIAC was Native American so General Motors axed it. PLYMOUTH is gone from Chrysler Motors because the name sounds too Anglo-Saxon. The OLD in OLDSMOBILE might have offended the anti-ageism crowd. Who knows?

I hate it when there are those woke-sters who make every effort to rid America of her unique heritage and culture. My mother always bought Eskimo Pie. All that said, I will NEVER buy an Edy's Pie! Fat Boy and Klondike with the polar bear on the label are fine by me.

The heritage you're talking about is pretty sick and twisted. America, home of the free and brave, give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free, all people are created equal, and all of it meaningless to hypocrites like you. What we have today is a whole lot of people who don't want to be hypocrites like you anymore. We want the USA to actually be the home of the free, free from white nationalists and religious zealotry, a place where everyone can pursue dreams (unless they're dreams like yours, where you dream of using hurtful words and phrases on whomever you like). The only thing we can't tolerate is your lack of tolerance. You diminish our society with your pursuit of criticism and mediocrity. Wake up and smell the diversity. 

You should watch some David Attenborough docs. He'll convince you that diversity is the key to the survival of life on this planet.

Nobody trusted your mother to serve on a jury, or have her own bank account or credit cards, and she wasn't good enough for Ivy League colleges. That it was traditional for the dominant majority to be casually insulting to minorities doesn't mean the loss of those traditions will make America worse*, nor preserving them lead to renewed greatness. Honky cracker boys (fun terms?) find those terms fun and funny and having it pointed out that those disparaged by them find them demeaning and offensive... is offensive. 

Seems like the ability to press those buttons and mobilise voters on such issues got the USA Donald Trump over the line for President.

(Or, as an Australian, make Australia, that has similar traditions, worse by calling them out for their offensiveness to minorities and discouraging their use.)

There was prohibition, then there wasn't - even the constitution changes. (People who bang on about this or that amendment, what do they think "amendment" means?)

Took a while, but I'm all for it. Removing a name that offended people doesn't affect the taste of the lolly. People offended by the change ... gosh there are some genuine issues in the World they could spend their time on.
