Myst
Im 14 and me and my friend are obbsesed with the force from star wars and were discussing the possibilites of this. We finally thought of using electromagnets to turn the magnets (possibly in a glove) to attract repel and to turn off completly. Is it possible to do do sumthing like say pick up a fork a meter away with an electromagnet this small or do something crazy like flip a car:-p and if this isnt possible can someone think of something else to help us with this problem. Also do gloves that can get you to climb up vertical walls exist?

Cap'n Refsmmat
I think Pangloss' sense of satire is getting rather liberal in its applications.

5614
You could make it pick up a grain of metal at about 10cm! Realistically you'd need a very big magnet with a very big power source to attract a fork from a meter, too much for a hand held device, unless it is plugged into the mains. ctc7752
Working with a significant amount of magnets must be approached with caution since it can cause changes in cell structure of the body that may not come to light for many years. Cap'n Refsmmat
There was a pseudoscience thread a long time ago about TV making people blink more.
[Tycho?]
Working with a significant amount of magnets must be approached with caution since it can cause changes in cell structure of the body that may not come to light for many years. I am highly skeptical of that. But I am more skeptical of your 0 post count. Whats up with that?
Callipygous
'']But I am more skeptical of your 0 post count. Whats up with that? it means hes never posted in any of the forums whos posts show up on the front page. the ones that are considered truely scientific. just ones like general discussion, brainteasers, news, psuedoscience(?) etc. in his case, nothing but GD.
