Externet Posted March 21 Posted March 21 (edited) Hi. Installed? Whatsapp to new drive with Ubuntu 24.04 on my laptop and it is functional. Find no launch icon, have not closed the tab until solving. On previous hard drive it did show at the bottom of screen. Does not show listed in 'installed' applications ! I have only Brave browser working perfect, cannot find how to implement the launcher (or is it favorites?). Help in wording for the unskilled, please. I followed this to install : If it shows "Remove from favorites" is because it is already in the favorites list, right ? Well, cannot see it at the bottom. Edited March 21 by Externet Replaced image
Sensei Posted yesterday at 05:45 AM Posted yesterday at 05:45 AM (edited) How to create any application launcher: I ran VirtualBox with Ubuntu 22.04 (I doubt there is any difference in this area) on my Kali Live. The .desktop files were located in /usr/share/applications (which is a common location for them). I changed Terminal to Terminal2, logged off and logged in again, to update change, and dock on the right started showing Terminal2. So why not copy and paste any .desktop file there, rename it to whatever is appropriate, and edit it with whatever you want to run? I didn't have to log out to update this one: Edited yesterday at 05:50 AM by Sensei
Externet Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Thank you, sir. Managed to implement/add the green launching icon, displays at the top left corner instead of the expected bottom row but can live with it :
Sensei Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago It looks like you are simply using WhatsApp via a web browser, not the installed application. There are WhatsApp clients for Linux: https://www.google.com/search?q=whatsapp+linux+client
