akahenaton
what type of engine is the most efficient?
arkain101
I think that depends what you call an engine. If it is somthing that generates useable power for you to do work. Then I would say any kind of free power like water and solar.
Klaynos
The most efficient theoretical heat engin is something called the carnot cycle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnot_cycle Although in reality we have not achived anything close to this ideal... It is probably not possible to make it. People have attempted to make very efficient engins and not done too well. You cannot make energy out of nothing you can only change one type of energy into another type of energy.
