herme3 Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Does anybody know of an online application that would allow me to connect to my AOL Instant Messenger account? I would like an application that could allow me to communicate on AIM without downloading the software. You simply go to a web site, and type in your AIM username and password. After that, the AIM user interface loads in the actual web site, and not an application on your computer. Does this exist yet?
ecoli Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 yeah, it's called Aim express. There's a beta version now. Google it.
the tree Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Really, your school doesn't want you pissing about on instant messengers for a good reason.
MattC Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 As a network administrator for the library of a UC, I suspect that the biggest motivation behind not allowing students to install on computers has little to do with worrying about them spending too much time on messengers and a lot to do with not wanting to constantly deal with spyware, bloatware, bugs, viruses, etc.
