Google Earth, Eastern Libya or Western Egypt.

 

My best guess is some sort of artificial ponds, but they are nearly 1 km wide, and in the middle of a desert.

I know that there are irrigation rigs that sweep out a circle, but I've never personally seen any that are half a km in radius. But here are similar circles in Utah, USA, and at 1/4 mile radius, are almost as big.
