EvoN1020v Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I did a search for the word, "Threshold". Apparently there's no thread that discuss about this amazing phenomonal TV show. I love all those science and math TV shows, such as "ReGenesis", and "Numb3rs". They made me more interesting into those areas. Oftenly I would think in school, "Why am I learning this crap?". Let me tell you, nothing is crap, because it can come back to you and you wished that you remember it. You'll just never know when you will need the specific information. A brief overview of Threshold: Broadcasting at 10 PM every friday night on Global. THRESHOLD is a suspenseful drama about a team of experts who are assembled when the U.S. Navy makes a chilling discovery: an extra terrestrial craft has landed in the mid-Atlantic ocean. Dr. Molly Anne Caffrey (Carla Gugino) is a government contingency analyst whose job is to devise response plans for worst-case scenarios. In a single instant, her life changes when one of those plans--THRESHOLD--is activated by Deputy National Security Advisor J.T. Baylock (Charles S. Dutton). Armed only with her hypothetical strategy to address the appearance of aliens on earth, Caffrey now finds herself thrust in the midst of a global crisis. She hand-picks a team of eclectic specialists to prepare for first contact: Dr. Nigel Fenway (Brent Spiner), a disillusioned NASA microbiologist; Lucas Pegg (Rob Benedict), a brilliant but neurotic physicist; Arthur Ramsey (Peter Dinklage), an expert in languages and mathematics; and Cavennaugh (Brian Van Holt), a highly trained covert operative with a mysterious past. Together, they decipher the intention of the craft, the fate of the ship's crew and begin preparations for the possibility of a crisis situation--an alien invasion. Those "aliens" posted a powerful alien signal that influence humans with their static crackling. Their signal appears to have an odd fraternal shape that can overpowers any technology and machines. Molly Caffrey was confronted with an international security indermining infection. Tell me of any of you watch this show. Tell my your opinions on THRESHOLD.
mic of orion Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 it is a rubbish I've seen it, I watched only bc of mr. Data from STNG, lost interest after 2nd episode, surface in other hand is very good...
AzurePhoenix Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I agree that Surface rocks, and I really like Threshold, except I was initially hoping for a bit more actual alien-involvment, not just a bunch of "infectees" running around trying to make more infectees. I might be naive, but I'm hoping that they're just going to build up to the cooler stuff, like mutant alienified rats and fish. Even so, it's marginally better than Invasion, which is also good, if not a bit slow. That seems to be the theme with these new sci-dramas (inlcuding Lost) that being long, drawn out issues that could easily frustrate less patient viewers, which makes sense, because they're taking ideas that would normally be wedged inot a single episode of x-files, or at most a three episode mini-series, and are instead turning them into a multi-season television show. I find it thrilling. That might just be the sugar I so recently consumed.
EvoN1020v Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 Don't anyone here watch "ReGenesis"?!! I just recently watched the show tonight (October 24th) and wow, my eyes were glued to the TV screen. It discussed about the "Bucky Ball" the rather most amazing symmertical carbon sphere I have ever known. It contains 60 carbon atoms and it physically can be compressed and then be bounced back. I just brought my spirit up because I understand most of the dialogues on the show. It's just an amazing show. Also, the show even extract some of our knowledge from sciencesucks.com.
EvoN1020v Posted November 1, 2005 Author Posted November 1, 2005 PREMIERE OF "DR. HOUSE" THE 2ND SEASON IS TONIGHT!!!!!!!!! (Global at 10PM Atlantic Time) I will get a big glass of Pepsi and ready to get my eyes "glued" to the screen.
