depends what cell in which organisms. Every cell has a slightly different shape, but a red blood cell is very different then a neuron which is very different from a plant cell.

No, they just look like that - the resolution and depth perseption fail in a light nicroscope. If you look in an electron microscope (scanning or tunneling will do) you'll see more depth than with a light one.

 

Light one can resolve to about 200 Angstroms and electron microscopes can resolve to about 5 Angstroms
