Bettina Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 http://www.metaresearch.org/home.asp What do you make of it. Is it a reputable place? Bettina
bascule Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Well, here's one thing that's flat out wrong, although it could just be out of date: http://www.metaresearch.org/cosmology/speed_of_gravity.asp These causality problems would be solved without any change to the mathematical formalism of GR, but only to its interpretation, if gravity is once again taken to be a propagating force of nature in flat spacetime with the propagation speed indicated by observational evidence and experiments: not less than 2 x 1010 c Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but by our best interpretations of GR and the best experimental evidence to date, we're fairly confident that gravity propagates at c. Anything else would allow for a causality violation (e.g. FTL communication using gravity waves)
