padren Posted November 29, 2005 Share Posted November 29, 2005 I don't know why the fellow was banned, he did PM me out of the blue asking if I would help work on his project (I don't have the math skills even for sound science) and if he did PM a number of people with that request (since I was PMed randomly I wouldn't doubt if he did PM a few people) they may have complained. Thats just conjecture though, I can only confirm he PMed me about it. As far as science goes, from what fiend posted from CD27: http://freshlinks.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=9159&PN=1 I figure that Satan has his strong hold already set up in this technology; so it would be only obvious that God himself would as well. I boldly state and believe that God himself has handed this theory over to me in hope that I will find a way to protect against these technologies being used in any other way than helping people. I think his now closed project thread would at best be moved to "Pseudoscience and Metaphysics" and that "Engineering" is definately out. Maybe the guy does have a gift and can draw smart connections others generally don't, but its clear its also an affliction and he draws many connections that are superficial in nature and do not describe reality at all, and he clearly can't tell the difference between the two. Most forums I know of, delete posts that discuss why they or another was banned - the public members of the forum were not involved nor are involved in the process, so turning into a public debate (often without nearly any of the information on the topic) only serves to confuse the matter. I respect that people are trying to help the fellow understand the potential reasonings the admins may have had, but this is really between the admin and the banned individual. Dave Posted November 29, 2005 Share Posted November 29, 2005 I feel that I should probably step in and answer some questions on this, before it gets bogged down with controversy and the like. SFN attracts a lot of people who want to post their theories, and that's fine. However, most of these people usually end up ignoring the huge gaping logical holes in those theories, instead choosing to believe that they are the next Einstein with new radical ideas. After a while, the staff gets pretty much sick of reading this and I suspect that most of the community does as well. Indeed, it's just not what SFN is all about, and so most members coming along proclaiming that they have theories that are clearly right, and moreover will not listen to reason, end up getting banned. This ban is still under review, but this is the basic premise for it. I'm not going to go into further details because they're not warranted, but please just bear in mind that if you've been warned and you're not happy about it, to PM the staff member that warned you, or one of the admins if you don't want to do that. Barring that, you can always e-mail me. The reason is not that we don't want you to talk about it in public, rather that it's a lot easier to hold a conversation on the matter in private.
