ecoli Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 What happens when my laptop goes into hibernation? What disks are shut off, and what stays on? And also, would anybody recomend doing this rather then a regular shut down? thanks
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 When the computer hibernates, all data from RAM and current processes is saved to disk. The computer then shuts everything down, like a normal shutdown. When you turn it back on, it loads all that data back into RAM and resumes all of the processes. It's essentially just as good as a normal shutdown.
ecoli Posted December 11, 2005 Author Posted December 11, 2005 hmm... then I think I'll start doing that instead of shutting down. There's a faster start-up time.
