Dak Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Sorry; im a bit lost when it comes to hardware Can someone tell me if getting two*256MB, pcp133 SDRAM cards will be ok, or will there be any problems/do i have to make sure i get the correct voltage/anything else Here is some info about my PC: Memory Bus Properties: Bus Type SDR SDRAM Bus Width 64-bit Real Clock 133 MHz Effective Clock 133 MHz Bandwidth 1067 MB/s Motherboard Physical Info: CPU Sockets/Slots 1 Expansion Slots 3 PCI' date=' 1 CNR RAM Slots 2 DIMM Integrated Devices Audio, Video Form Factor Micro ATX Motherboard Size 240 mm x 240 mm Motherboard Chipset KLE133 [ Memory Controller '] Memory Controller Properties: Error Correction None Supported Memory Types SPM, SDRAM Supported Memory Voltages 3.3V, 2.9V Maximum Memory Module Size 1 MB Memory Slots 0 [ DIMM1: Kingston 6MX64PC133CL3 168P ] Memory Module Properties: Module Name Kingston 6MX64PC133CL3 168P Serial Number 04099304h Manufacture Date Week 40 / 2002 Module Size 128 MB (1 rows, 4 banks) Module Type Unbuffered Memory Type SDRAM Memory Speed PC133 (133 MHz) Module Width 64 bit Module Voltage LVTTL Error Detection Method None Refresh Rate Reduced (7.8 us), Self-Refresh Memory Timings: @ 133 MHz 3.0-3-3-6 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) @ 100 MHz 2.0-2-2-5 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) Memory Module Features: Early RAS# Precharge Not Supported Auto-Precharge Supported Precharge All Supported Write1/Read Burst Supported Buffered Address/Control Inputs Not Supported Registered Address/Control Inputs Not Supported On-Card PLL (Clock) Not Supported Buffered DQMB Inputs Not Supported Registered DQMB Inputs Not Supported Differential Clock Input Not Supported Redundant Row Address Not Supported Memory Module Manufacturer: Company Name Kingston Technology Company, Inc. 5614 Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Yeah that will be fine... the easiest way to know that is because you are currently using PC133 RAM, so getting more of the same will work, because, well, it's what you're currently using which you know works! I spose if you were really worried about it working you could ensure that the new RAM uses 3.3V or 2.9V because that is what your mobo supports.
Dave Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 That won't be a problem. You've just got normal SDRAM, so you don't have to contend with the different clock speeds and dual-channel configurations that you can get with DDR.
Dak Posted December 11, 2005 Author Posted December 11, 2005 Cheers guys. You've just got normal SDRAM, so you don't have to contend with the different clock speeds and dual-channel configurations that you can get with DDR. Words cannot express how happy I am that the sentance with the complicated terms included a clause that I dont need to understand them
