Guest grokker Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 I am using the http://www.aleks.com/ system in class and was wondering two things. Has anyone used this system and can tell me what to expect from the students and two what are some good notions to carry into a classroom filled with mostly 20 year old kids who are in remedial algebra in college?
YT2095 Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 Generate curiosity! you can teach almost anyone anything if they WANT to know or can see a usefull/practical application that will benefit them in some way Each student will be different in their own right, there is no ONE answer to that. But if you can find the `Key` to each, and are able to explain in terms they understand, you`re on a sure fire winner
Dave Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 Like YT said, if they're going to be gits in class, they won't learn anything and most probably can't be bothered learning anything. Not seen that system myself, I'll have a look and get back to you.
