You can tell a lot about a person by what they drive. Sometimes

What kinds of vehicles do you have?

Why did you pick them?

What would you like to have?

I was hauling bundles for the local newspaper so I am still driving the three standard ford festivas I used for that and an 87 Nissan pickup.

All have over 1,000,000 miles. One of the festivas has over 300,000 miles. My wife and I have hit 15 deer in festivas and two of them were killed on the spot. Both cars were disable by deer hits so I put big knarly deer guards on the front and the only thing that gets beat up is the deer now.

We my wife is pregnant with our third child so at some point we will get a minivan. The Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey

a '98 Toyota carola' date=' 170,000 miles

Why did you pick them?

Fuel efficent, plus my dad gave it to me :P

I love my car, despite it being hurt, ATM. (I was just involved in an auto accident). However, I would like to get a hybrid, ideally.

1998 Ford Escort SE.

Why did you pick them?

It, being my first car, because it was cheap and in good condition. $1,200. It had 135,000 miles on it. But it gets great gas mileage (about 40 in the Summer, and 30 in the Winter (I live in New Hampshire)).

What would you like to have?

I'd like to have a Lotus Elise. Why? Because they're rare. They look amazing, unlike anything else on the road. You can get them in the US. They handle better than nearly anything on the road. They're smaller than almost anything on the road. And they're faster than almost anything on the road.

I had a corolla that I gave away because I thought it was worn out at 100,000 alas I am older and wiser now.

Until the 22nd, when I drove it into a pick-up, I drove a '96 Geo Prizm stick. God, I loved that car. Great mileage, good acceleration and handling for my needs, comfortable, reliable, durable, back seat perfect for a large dog.

I did a lot of research based on mileage v. durability, for total energy cost, and I picked the Prizm. Then I test drove 3 vehicles, and the Prizm won my heart and my wallet.

I drove it in street traffic, highway rush-hour traffic, and back and forth across the U.S. I was rear-ended twice by pick-ups and it was still a good ride. The only thing I regret was getting a tune-up two weeks before I totalled it.

I'm thinking about replacing it with a Scion ...

Just one, a 95 mercedes e320 with about 75k miles on it.

Why did you pick them?

Simply put, because they're the best car on the market. They're incredibly well designed (I've had this merc and a prior one for over 10 years now, and I've spent a mere $300 on mechanical troubles), very strong (I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the all-steel frame of my prior merc), suprisingly fuel-efficient (26 mpg highway), excellent capabilities, and used ones are dirt cheap because they last for freaking ever and just plain will not die.

What would you like to have?

Something with a chauffer. I actually dislike driving, and avoid it whenever possible, due to the incredibly high risk of death. I casually grab 6 foot crocs, but I'm paranoid about vehicle accidents. It's one of the reasons I will never, ever have a vehicle with anything less than a superb safety rating.

Somehow, I´m not really convinced about that.

What kinds of vehicles do you have?

None.

Why did you pick them?

Because I live in a city.

What would you like to have?

A bike. But up to today I was too lazy bringing mine to Dresden or buying a new one.

Mokele[/quote']I try to minimise my driving for this reason as well. I drove a tow truck in Los Angeles for a while. Lots of accidents.

I often wish I could get rid of the cars. I only had a bicycle when I live in Hawaii.

for a start I`ll point that I Don`t "Drive" myself, I`m a Biker (you RIDE a Bike) or an Ex-Biker anyway, my last bike was an MZ 125, I`ve tried cars and don`t like them (wanna cut the roof off and jack the seat up a few foot and have all the controls on the steering wheel), I don`t like being "Caged" when I ride.

but my Wife does Drive (cars) and we have 2005 Vauxhaul Zafira, a nice stable and reasonably comfortable Family car, oh yeah, and it`s Blue :)

I understand exactly what you mean. I decided they were not for a guy with a family depending on him though.

1999 Ford Escort ZX2, blue with 90,000 miles. The only problem is that the thing only has a cassette player. Everything from the windows to the sunroof are power operated, yet the damn thing has a GODDAMN CASSETTE PLAYER!!!!!

Why did you pick them?
It was affordable with good mileage, yet cute.

What would you like to have?
I'd want a good four-wheel drive with lots of luggage space for those rough mountain roads when I'm out camping in the desert or mountains. I'd love a hybrid with good mileage without trading too much power and reliability.

I had an Escort that lost the automatic transmissions at 98,000 miles.

Well maybe not I new a guy that said he got 300,000 mile out of his.

Yeah, the ZX2 is supposedly more reliable than some of the other varieties, but they're not common themselves because they're so rough on idle that most owners returned them out of irritation. My friend got somewhat like 310,000 out of hers.

A 1997 Ford Fairmont Ghia. 270,000 ks. Power everything and a 6 stacker CD player. Dark Green, not the best colour for a car in Queensland, soaks up the heat.

It was avilable when my last car was "modified" by a 4 WD. Better he hit my car than the pedestrians in front of me though.

An Elise. Oooooohhhhhhh!:)
