bio_rat
I am a high school senior with a planned career in biology and need help with a long-term project. I'm planning an experiment involving restricted-calorie diet as a way to promote mouse longevity. However, I am unable to find a reliable source of information about the dietary requirements of mice. Does anyone know how many calories the average mouse consumes per day on a non-calorie-restricted diet? How about nutrients? I read ratpalace.com's information on rodent nutrition, but found almost no information beyond that. I would probably keep the mice on Harlan Teklad 2014 or similar, but have no idea how much to feed them per day on my planned 65% restricted diet. I'd be grateful for any info on this topic. Thanks.
