Somehow I doubt Jupiter would notice even if that pathetic pellet of plutonium did cause some sort of explosion.

 

That planet has storms bigger than the Earth ffs. Some people have no sense of scale.

Actualy is there ANY reason at all that that would even TRY to explode? I can`t see there sufficient Pu mass for that to happen, a meldown maybe possible in a Jupiter sort of way, meaning that the Pu would get Hot evaporoate then get lost in the gasses and probably wouldn`t even show up as a trace. and even if it did go boom I can`t see it setting fire to anything anymore than the shumacker Levi 9 impacts did. Opticaly I don`t recon there`de be much if anything to see, and maybe an insignificant radio spike not much bigger than background static. I think a comet of pure frozen Oxygen would make a neat display though :)
