the tree Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I've finnally succumed and am downloading MiKTeX (TeX for Windows), and it occured to me that I'm going to need a TeX editor. Does anyone know of a good TeX editor for Windows? Preferably one that can preview on demand without too much hassle. Basically I'm looking for WinEdit but free.
PhDP Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 WinEdt is better for making BibTeX entries, but for everything else there's TeXnicCenter (http://www.toolscenter.org/), and WinShell (http://www.winshell.de/). And it's free ! And if you're making a bibliography there's a lot of great packages here (including the very good style of "Journal of theoretical biology").
5614 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it's a good program and you can get a free demo. http://www.dessci.com/en/products/mathtype/
Dave Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I use TeXnicCenter. Best I've seen, and it's free. Most of the time I use Linux though
the tree Posted February 12, 2006 Author Posted February 12, 2006 'ta, I've found WinShell pretty useful and I'm probably going to keep using it.
