JustStuit Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I just got my drivers license ! Yay. I would suggest any people living in the southeastern United States stay off the road for a few years.
-Demosthenes- Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Most people were shaky at first, in a few weeks it'll be so easy it'll be boring
Guest ecardica Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Expect your first few trips to be nerve wrecking, driving on the road with the other drivers is quite scary for a while. Eventually you get used to it and it becomes natural, only takes a few months to completly get the hang of it. Good luck
JohnB Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Yep, you'll be fine in a few weeks. Like most things, driving improves with practice. Just remember two things. 1. Except for racing drivers, no-one is ever as good as they think they are. 2. Don't get too fond of your first car. You will bend it.
JustStuit Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 My first car (truck) is an '83 Chevy S10. I like because it's loud (and fun). not to metion manual.
JohnB Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 We don't have them over here, but it looks like a long tray 'ute. Seems a good and solid vehicle. Good first car.
ecoli Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 . Except for racing drivers, no-one is ever as good as they think they are. My girlfriend's dad used to test cars for Nascar... he's one of the few people I'm actually comfortable driving with. Don't get too fond of your first car. You will bend it. Yep, just did that a month ago.
JohnB Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Yep, just did that a month ago. Get used to it. My GF at the time rolled my first car. My third got T-boned. My fourth T-boned another car. My fifth got hit from behind. My sixth (current one) T-boned another car. Believe it or not, all the T-bones were caused by the other car going through a stop sign or running a red light. In case you're wondering, my second car had the engine blow up.
