tejaswini Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 is it true that lacto bacillus a common flora in the vagina of women can kill hiv?then how is that all the women are getting infected.technically they should be destroyed isn't it.
starbug1 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 According to Wikipedia Lactobacillus are found in pickles and other fermented foods. You don't see AIDS victims running off to the store to buy Vlasic, so there probably isn't much truth to that claim.
Daecon Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Wouldn't the name "lacto" imply that it's sort of milk-based, or am I getting confused? What's the name of the bacteria that needs to be killed off by pasturising milk before it's sold in shops?
tejaswini Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 there are loads of bacteria that are to be killed off before the milk is sold.for ex:mycobacterium tuberculosis, coxiella burnetti etc. lacto bacillus is the one that transforms milk to curd by acidic fermentation at low pH.
tejaswini Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 and for all those who want the source, please go to http://www.thebody.com the complete hiv/aids resouce.
tejaswini Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 and in that go to women initiated method for hiv
